    students joining our school

I am not sure if I should use the word "joining" in the following sentence. Do you have any ideas? Please also let me know if there are any grammatical mistakes in this sentence. Thanks!

Notwithstanding that we increased tuition fees of our school by about 30% for the 2012/2012 school year, the number of students joining our schools increased for the same school year.
    Thank you!

    Re: Join

"Joining" is fine. You could use "enrolling at" too.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Thanks all! So is it wrong to say "for the 2012/2013 school year"?
    Thank you!

No, but Matthew's version is more succinct.
