    In the previous years .......

    Hello.I

In the previous years, the shipyard performed class repairs to the following ships: A, B, C and D.

Given the fact that the phrase "In the previous years" is used, I would expect to use Simple Past tense rather than Present Perfect tense.

    What do you think?

    Thank you.

Please use the "Edit Post" function to enlarge the font so that the post is readable. It's far too small. Thanks.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

Re: In the previous years .......

Unless the time span had been previously specified, "the previous years" is incorrect.

It's unclear what the context for this sentence is, so hard to suggest a best alternative. Perhaps 'In the past, the shipyard has performed class repairs to the following ships: A, B, C and D.'
