They do experiments/experiment to find new recipe

They do experiments to find new recipe.
They do experiment to find new recipe

    Which one is correct?
Could you tell me the reason?

Re: They do experiments/experiment to find new recipe

Neither is correct. You need to either say 'find a new recipe', or make it plural and say 'find new recipes'.

That being said, I don't find either one very natural. I'd say "They experiment to find new recipes/a new recipe".

It's a little unusual to use the verb 'experiment' with cooking, but it can work. I have a better verb in mind to express the idea, but I can't think of it at the moment. Maybe after the coffee kicks in I'll comment further.

Edit: I guess the verb I was thinking of was 'improvise'.

Re: They do experiments/experiment to find new recipe

It seems to be the wrong way round to me. I would expect someone to find a new recipe and then experiment with it.

Re: They do experiments/experiment to find new recipe

There is a burger shop here that come up with new burgers. Their each burger have different style of taste which they themselves found it by experiment(or what ever word appropriate).

I just wrote that in one single sentence.

They do experiment to find a new recipe.

now, please tell me how to write it.
