I have a question about the word "house".

An apartment cannot be expressed as a word "house"?

    Re: A Question about "house"

After lunch, we went to see a movie

You are right, an apartment cannot be expressed as a word "House"...House means a separate "home"….

An Apartment means that you have a house in a common building…

That’s what I understood from the common usage…

    Re: A Question about "house"

A "house" implies that it is a self-contained, stand-alone residence. You can, however, refer to an apartment as your "home."
