A child started to walk on his own

A child started to walk on his own.

    'on' is preposition.
but what is 'his own'? I can't find its parts of speech.

'His' is a possessive adjective modifying the pronoun 'own'.

'on' is a preposition (no full stop here) but what is 'his own'? I can't find its work out what parts part of speech it is.
Note my corrections above. I have noticed in your last few threads that you have a bit of a problem with your use of articles. That might be something to concentrate on for a week or so.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
