Question tag ŚNot only Jasmin but also her brother liked my book...

    Hi!
This is a new thread in which we will discuss some sentences that need suitable question tags.
    The sentence is:
Not only Jasmin but also her brother liked my book,........?

    My opinion: "didn't they?".

    Thanks in advance!

That's a very improbable sentence. More likely would be Neither Jasmine nor her brother liked my book, did they? or Jasmine and her brother disliked my book, didn't they?

You can quoth me on this.

You seem to have misunderstood my question. The sentence I gave means the two brothers did like the book. Where did you get "disliked" from?

I don't know. I misunderstood the question. My statement "That's a very improbable sentence" holds, though. There's an inverse correlation between sentence complexity and comprehensibility.

A likelier sentence is trivial: Jasmin and her brother liked my book, didn't they?

Yes, this sentence is the same meaning as mine.

Now, do you see the question tag I mentioned is right?
