State run companies and State owned companies

    Hello

Which one of the followings is correct?

    - State run companies/sectors

    - State owned companies/sectors

    - Governmental/public companies

    This is not a test.
I think "State run companies and State owned companies" are correct but I'm not sure about the other options.

Both "state-run" and "state-owned" should by hyphenated. They don't necessarily mean the same thing.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

A state-owned company is owned by the state (the government). A state-run company might not be owned by the state.

More likely the other way around. I can't imagine a situation where the state would be chosen to run something that is owned by a private interest. I can imagine a state-owned entity being run by professionals of a private company.
