    Creation of sorts

Everything begins with a creation of sorts. All life comes from an egg.
I don't understand the meaning of "creation of sorts".

    Re: Creation of sorts

Life can be created in very different ways, all of which involve an egg. It may not be a very scientific sentence, as a scientist may question whether it covers plants, bacteria, viruses, etc.

    Re: Creation of sorts

I read it from a book (absorbent mind), which one of the paragraph described about the human mind as follows:

Just as a man does not create his body by logical reasoning, so he does not follow a line of argument when creating the form of his mind. Creation, here, means that mysterious primordial occurrence which gives rise to something which at first did not exist, something which is later destined to grow in accordance with vital laws. But, indeed, everything begins with a creation of sorts: Omne vivum ex ove! All life comes from an egg.

I don't understand the phase "creation of sorts" what is the meaning of "sorts" in the context?
