How do you describe the way you sound when you talk into a fan?

Why would anyone talk into a fan?

To amuse themselves or others with their amusingly modulated, fluttery voice.
    I am not a teacher.

Emsr, please don't try telling us you've never done this as a child!!!

It's almost like a rite of passage. One that happens shortly before you learn a valuable life lesson about the vulnerability of fingers and tongues to rapidly spinning objects.

I can assure you I have never talked into a fan. I assume you're talking about an electric (spinning) fan, not a little handheld lace one?

Either works, according to this article on practical applications of fan voice modulation.

Sometimes, when you're lonely, it helps to hear a voice other than your own.
