    Few Questions about "idea."

    Hello,

I would like to ask a few questions about the word "idea" which are as follows:

Q1: Can I replace "notion" with "idea?"
Locals have this ridiculous notion/idea that hostility is a tool to keep people away?

Q2: Government has not ruled out the idea that he could be killer?
To me, idea, here, doesn't mean a notion or belief but a theory. Am I right?

Q3: Do you think I like the idea of him being in the jail.
Does it mean that he doesn't like the thought of him being in jail?

Q4: I am only letting her go the party, don't get any ideas.
    What does "idea" mean here.

BTW, I have looked up "idea" in Longman and Oxford dictionary, yet I can't tell what exactly does it mean.

Thank you for your help and consideration.

Q4: I am only letting her go the party, don't get any ideas.
What does "idea" mean here. Don't think that allowing her to go to the party means she will necessarily be allowed to do other things.

Another possible meaning for #4 is that the person will allow just the one person to go to the party, and other people shouldn't get the idea that they will be allowed to go too.

PS It should be go to the party.
