Hello.

Let's imagine that a ship was rebuilt a few years ago. She was lengthened by 6 metres.

I would like to say that the ship has sailed ever since then.

Should I say "The ship has sailed to this day" or "The ship sails to this day"?

Thank you.

You would normally use the present tense with "to this day". It's not common, and I would probably use 'still' with it.
"The barber who cut my hair when I was a child still works, to this day."
"The ship still sails to this day."
"To this day, I still don't know what he was talking about."
