    "National expediency"?

    Hi all,

Would it make sense to use the mentioned words when talking about 'the good of/for a country'? (The best decision/policy that serves the whole country, considering the condition the country's going through...)

How about other cases then? Can I say, 'for the good of the whole family, he decided to keep it as a secret'?
