    Staff assessment report

    Please help me improve the following staff assessment report. Thank you very much.

    Being the officer-in-charge of the playground, Sherman is responsible for handling different types of complicated and challenging works, ranging from sports facilities management, human management, financial management, horticultural and trees management, liaison work with the public and government departments and general administration management. As regard the supervision of the working team comprising more than 20 subordinates, Sherman displays his outstanding managerial skills by successfully supervising and leading the team to complete all the assigned tasks effectively and timely, ensuring the provision of consistent quality services to the public.

    Likewise, Sherman, with the delivery of clear and accurate instructions, intelligently oversees the performances of various services contractors to finish their routine duties in the playground. Flexible managerial approach as Sherman has adopted, he doesn't hesitate to deliver suitable suggestions and warnings to those outsourcing workers who fails to meet the requirements and obligations stated on the contract agreement.Thanks to Sherman’s professional managerial skills, the efficiency and the disciplines of the all the staff members and outsourcing staff are satisfactorily maintained, which helps consolidate the playground as one of the most popular leisure area within the district.

    During the initiation and implementation of the improvement works this year, Sherman plays an influential role in assisting the seniors to liaise with the technical divisions, supervise and advise on the works, find out the works-related problems and recommend the work contractors to make suitable improvements whenever required, request them to provide us with detailed reports demonstrating the preparation and the progress of these works to ensure the smooth running of all the works. In fact, credit to Sherman's enthusiasm and attentiveness towards the repair and improvement works, all the works can be initiated, implemented and finished timely and effectively.

    Being an exceptional talent at financial management, Sherman has independently and systemically manipulated full set of financial matters in the playground, overseeing the full set of revenue and cost management in the playground, issuing a large number of direct purchase orders to timely acquire the necessary goods and services to ensure the smooth operation of the playground, forecasting the overtime allowance and special duties allowance for all the staff members in the playground as well as providing accurate and clear records of financial management as consistently verified by the senior officials’ checking and endorsement. Over the years, thanks to Sherman’s great endeavor and pragmatic approach, all the financial matters in the playground have been satisfactorily managed, which provides a solid foundation for the senior officials to build on it for implementing improvement works.

    With great wealth of horticultural experience and knowledge as well as strong leadership skill, Sherman skillfully makes full use of his superiority in these aspects by leading and supervising all the staff members and the contracting workers to carry out routine horticultural and trees maintenance woks together with a series of farsighted improvement works in this section. Thanks to his all along efforts and flexible management, the horticultural landscape at the playground has been further beautified and nearly all the plants and the trees at the playground have been well managed,even during the typhoon season and public safety can be greatly assured as a result.

    As a considerate, kind and generous leader, Sherman always shares his extensive managerial knowledge and experience with all his subordinates and he has maintained very harmonious relationship with everybody in the playground and the members of public. I am fortunate to have the opportunity of working alongside an outstanding managerial talent like Sherman and I am therefore sorry to learnt hat he is set to retire effective from 20.09.2016. I trust that the loss of such a well-respected talented colleague is not only a great blow to our playground, but also to our department as a whole, even in the long run.

    It sounds like Sherman ran the show!
    I think you should write a more realistic letter.
