    cupboard, cabinet or closet?

Would you consider this a board game cupboard, a board game cabinet, or a board game closet?

    Re: cupboard, cabinet or closet?

    Cabinet - my preference.
    Cupboard - okay.
Closet - No, not a closet.

    Re: cupboard, cabinet or closet?

I'm equally okay with either 'cupboard' or 'cabinet', but definitely not a closet.

    More specifically, it's a glass-fronted cupboard/cabinet.

Its use would not be confined to displaying board games.

    Re: cupboard, cabinet or closet?

The first word that popped up my mind was "cupboard". I didn't even know we could describe it as a cabinet.
Please, correct all my mistakes. I should know English perfectly and if you show me my mistakes I will achieve my dream a little bit faster. A lot of thanks.

    Re: cupboard, cabinet or closet?

In BrE, a cabinet is posher than a cupboard. Cabinets often have more intricate woodwork and glass doors. We often store things in cupboards and display them in cabinets.

    Re: cupboard, cabinet or closet?

I agree with the reason given above in post #7. It's the display function that makes it a cabinet, not a cupboard, for me (BrE).

A closet is shown in the following picture, which might be worth the OP's reference.
