    I had overlooked the mail

I have worngly addressed the mail, thought that was for another subject. and i want to send mail back for that.

What would be the good phrase to use for that.

Can I use " I had overlooked the mail" or any other?

You didn't overlook it; you sent it to the wrong address.

Re: I had overlooked the mail

Are you talking about mail (written material you are posting) or email (electronic)?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
