    to come along usage

An American acquaintance of mine said that the sentence
    1. A bus should come along any minute now.
    Sounds old-fashioned. Is it true?
    And what about the sentence:
    2. Your English is coming along really well.

    Re: to come along usage

They both sound perfectly good to me, though some may think I'm old-fashioned, too.

    Re: to come along usage

They both sound fine to me and I don't detect any hint of "old-fashioned" in them.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

I'm American and find both examples completely natural.
    I am not a teacher.
