In conversations with a British man, he's used the phrases below, please could someone help explain what these mean?
You're not a bad sort.
You're not a bad lass.

I can understand your problem with the first because "sort" has an unusual meaning there. It roughly means "type of person".
However, what are your problems with the second sentence? It's fairly literal. Do you understand each individual word?
