    Ray vs beam.

What is the difference between using these two words?

First, give us some evidence that you have consulted dictionaries (click here) and then use the words in a few sentences of your own for us to comment on.

    Re: Ray vs beam.

If referring to energy, such as light, they mean the same thing. However, a beam can support a structure, while a ray can swim in the ocean.

    Look up:

    • light beam
    • gamma ray
    • support beam
    • manta ray
