    Re: printer's devil

    Hello Murli

    Here's a sentence:

"He was a printer's devil at 14, and a reporter while still in his teens."

    All the best,

    MrP

    Sir,

If you don't mind, could you please tell the meaning of the sentence you wrote?

    Thank you,

    Re: printer's devil

    Hello Murli

It means: "He worked as a printer's devil when he was 14 years old, and was a reporter before he was 20 years old."

In the past, a "printer's devil" was an apprentice who mixed ink, etc. in a printing company.

A "reporter" writes news stories for a newspaper.

    Does that help?

    All the best,
    MrP
