    Women do better than men as the cox.

    Hello, teachers. I have a question.

    "Women do better than men as the cox"

    Do you think the sentence above is grammatical?

    I guess "the cox" should be changed into "coxes" because women" and "men" are plural.

    No sentence is grammatical without a final punctuation mark.

    I agree that 'coxes' is better.

    (I expect we'll get dozens of complaints from male coxes protesting about the absurd generalisation.)

    No, singular is correct. "Cox" in the sentence is referring to a position (singular), not to people (plural).

    You could rewrite it:

    "Women do better than men as coxes".
