"The corrupt politicians steal the money from the national treasure or chest. These people do not let the money that we pay to government in form of tax reach the place it is for, they steal it in half way."

Please check.

If we have to say the last sentence using "half way" (which is not correct) then what is the correct way to say it?

See above. Otherwise, I don't follow your logic.

You could say that they steal it en route or on the way, but I prefer Teechar's version. They could steal it at many points, not just half way.

Do they steal the money when it's on the way to its destination (halfway doesn't work in that context) or do they steal half the money?

Yes, when it is on it's way to its destination and it is half way through.

Yes, when it is on it's way to its destination and it is half way through.

How on earth do they measure when it's halfway? It would work if we were talking about a big pile of cash which had to travel, for example, 100 miles from a government office to a local council office. Then you could say it was stolen when it had travelled 50 miles. However, these days, most money goes electronically so there's really no way to measure "halfway".

I have lived in places with corruption, and they steal at every stage.
