    I have trouble with the following statement - "Submission had been to the college and

    I have a question here and below is the scenario. Request some assistance.


    I had made a submission to a college some days ago and it was not accepted due to some documentation issues.
    So I am writing a letter to my consultancy and I would like to understand please if the below statement is grammatically correct.


    I have trouble with the following statement - "Submission had been made to the college and the submitted application was denied".

    There is no need for a past perfect or two passives. Try The college turned down the application I submitted.
