    turned oout/had turned out

Hello! I still need some help, please!
"It was ten minutes after the plane had taken off, when I realized it was too late to change my mind, and I started to relax. It TURNED OUT/ HAD TURNED OUT to be the best few months of my life!" (from grammar exercise)
I would say "turned out": do you think so? Thank you beforehand!!!

    Re: turned oout/had turned out

You're welcome in advance. Please don't use so many exclamation marks, though. We use a more restrained style here on UsingEnglish.

Is this a homework assignment, or are you working through an exercise book on your own?
    I am not a teacher.

    Re: turned oout/had turned out

As a matter of fact, I've helped a student get ready for her English classwork, and we went through her grammar book and tried to make a kind of revision of many topics. The exercise mentioned above is about choosing between past perfect and past simple and comes from that grammar.
    Sorry for my exclamation marks!

So is this your friend's homework assignment?
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: turned oout/had turned out

Assuming that the speaker is talking about the months after the flight, then only 'turned out' works.

We decided together what to do; her teacher only gave some indications about the grammar topics and the units of the book to take into account.
