lingers on the frothy border of words

    Hi,

Your 'proof' still lingers on the frothy border of words.

What is the meaning of the italic part?

    Thank you.

What is the source of that sentence?

Re: lingers on the frothy border of words

It is from a novel of isaac asimov.

"Then, your 'proof' still lingers on the frothy border of words backed by no concrete evidence."

    This is the entire sentence.

It's trying to cast doubt on/call into question the "proof" referred to in that sentence.

    Note my corrections above.

We say that a book is "by" the author, and we capitalise the first letter of names.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

To me, it means that what is being presented as proof is still open to interpretation because the words used are not that clear.
