"I would like to take suggestions from you, being an expert in the field of psycholog

"I would like to take suggestions from you, being an expert in the field of psychology and an avid follower of Mr. X, like me".

There seems to be some structuring error in this sentence. Could you please restructure it.

    Thank you.

I would like to take your suggestions, as you are an expert in the field of psychology and an avid follower of Mr. X, like me.
    I am not a teacher.
