What tense shall I use in the following sentence: "as his mother shows him"

    Dear teachers,

I asked a question in word reference forum.

If his mom will teach him how to cook tomorrow, shall I use "will" in the following sentence?

He will cook as his mother shows him.

or He will cook as his mother will show him.( I was told that this one is old fashioned)

But I can't find information of using present tense to express future in "as+clauses",

Instead, I find things like "If+clause", "when/as soon as", etc...

Thanks a lot for your kind help!

I'm not clear what you're actually asking. If you cook something as (in the way that) you have been shown, then the showing took place in the past, and from now on you plan to cook it in that way, you can use either the present tense or indicate the future.

I cook spaghetti bolognese the way my mother showed me. (Habitual action - you always cook it this way.)
Tonight, I am going to cook spaghetti bolognese the way my mother showed me. (Single instance - tonight you will cook it that way but we don't know how you plan to cook it on subsequent occasions.)
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Thanks so much!

Suppose tomorrow my mother will show me how to cook, and then I will follow.

    Shall I say:

Tomorrow, I will cook as my mother shows me./will show me?

You could say My mother's going to show me how to cook spaghetti tomorrow. Then I'm going to cook it, or I'm going to cook spaghetti tomorrow after my mother shows me how.

Write Suppose my mother shows me how to cook spaghetti. Should I say:....
    I am not a teacher.

But if I want to use "as+clause" how should I express?

    Should I add "will"?

    Thanks for your sentences.

    I have two questions.

The first one " I cook as my mother shows me " (Does this one mean my mother often shows me? It is about frequent action?)

Besides, " I will cook as my mother has shown me " (Does this one mean now my mother has shown me? If tomorrow she shows me how to cook, then I will follow, how can I express?)

You could say Tomorrow, my mother's going to show me how to cook spaghetti. Then I'll cook it as she has shown me. It's not very natural but it's possible.

This is getting into very unlikely territory, but you could also say something like Tomorrow, my mother's going to show me how to cook spaghetti. Then I'll cook it as she will have shown me. Nobody would ever say or write that, but not because of the unusual tense; we do sometimes use the future perfect.

A more natural substitute without as would be Then I'll cook it the way she showed me to.

Ask How should I write my sentence if I want to use "as"+clause?
    I am not a teacher.
