Also, riding generally applies to things we can mount, i.e. horses or motorbikes, but not things we get into, such as cars and trucks.

I was riding in the car (not ridding) is correct.

Either version with motorcycle is correct if you fix the spelling error. There's no significant difference in meaning.

Doesn't it mean that I wasn't driving the car?

I was on the bike and I was riding the bike both mean the same. I read on the internet that former means that I am riding the pilion someone else is driving (sorry to use driving I was confused about the correct word) the bike.

On the bike (where "bike" means "motorcycle") doesn't exclude operating it. Both the passenger and the operator are on the bike.

Although it's possible for someone who was driving to say I was riding in the car, further context would be required to make it clear that that person was also driving it. Without further context, I'd understand riding in the car​ to apply only to the passenger(s).

Okay, riding a bike or on a bike are same. But riding in the car means I am not the person who is driving the car. But it can also mean that I am driving the car.

You can usually understand riding in the car​ to apply to passengers, not the driver.
