    give us a new cheque

    Are these sentences right?

We received your cheque but the amount is incorrect. It should be $550.00, not $500.00. So we are returning it so you can give us a new cheque.

Re: give us a new cheque

It's OK although there should not be a full stop between "$500" and "so". However, it could be neater. I would write:

We are returning the cheque you sent because it was made out for $500 instead of $550. Please send a [new] cheque for the correct amount.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
