Can anyone help me, please? I'm collecting idioms with toponyms, i.e. place names (counties, towns, countries, streets, rivers, etc.)
So far I got:
shipshade and Bristol fashion
to send smb. to Coventry
coals to Newcastle
New York minute

Perhaps you know some idioms that can characterize your nationality or even peculiarities of your hometown/some other place
I'd really appreciate your replies!

Essex girl (there's currently a big backlash against this one in the UK. It's just entered the Oxford English Dictionary and some people from Essex are upset that it's too broad a stereotype)
Chinese whispers
To go Dutch
When in Rome ...
Get out of Dodge

I included the second and third examples even though they involve adjectives rather than nouns. I wasn't sure how strict your criteria were.

In these idioms, southern refers to the old South of the United States.
