Kevin was eating cake in the dining room alone

    Hello.

Are the following sentences grammatically correct?

"Kevin was eating cake in the dining room alone. Her mother, father and brother showed up."

    Thanks.

Re: Kevin was eating cake in the dining room alone

There doesn't seem to be any connection between them, particularly because you have put them in separate sentences. If you remove the full stop, and add "when" instead, it might make more sense.

I would say "Kevin was eating cake alone in the dining room ..."
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

A previous sentence has to tell us whose mother arrived. If you're thinking about Kevin's mother, you have to say his mother arrived.
