    I have no information one way or ...

    "I have no information one way or the other, but I would rather he do it than not do it".

    Shouldn't it be "...would rather he did it..."? and probably "..not didn't do it"?

    The subjunctive "do" is the best choice in this awkward sentence, at least in AmE. We use the subjunctive more in AmE than the Brits do.

    "Not didn't do it" is ungrammatical.

    "I would rather he played the game" (Here, it shouldn't be "play" but "played"). Then why is it "he do it" for the original sentence? Further, please tell me why "not didn't do it" is ungrammatical, as again here past tense "didn't do" is used.

    Yes, MeyaN, please edit your signature line so that it is not in bold and not all in capitals.
