    realizing it

    a. He forgot his wallet in the restaurant realizing it two hours later.
    b. He forgot his wallet in the restaurant, realizing it two hours later.

    Do these sentences work?

    Is the comma necessary?

    Many thanks.

    Re: realizing it

In BrE, we don't use "to forget something somewhere". We use "forget" on its own and use "left" if we're specifying the location.

Steve: Oh no, I forgot my wallet.
    Julie: Where is it?
Steve: I left it at the restaurant!
Julie: Quick! Let's go back and get it.

So your example would be "He left his wallet at the restaurant. He realised two hours later."
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: realizing it

    Thank you so much!

So you wouldn't use 'he realized it two hours later' or 'he realized that two hours later'?

    Many thanks.

    Re: realizing it

As long as both sentences are used together, it's clear what he realised. I find both "it" and "that" unnatural there. I might use:

He left his wallet at the restaurant. He realised he'd forgotten it two hours later.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    Re: realizing it

    I think this would work:

    and realised two hours later.
