    gap widening

How should I make the following sentences sound natural? Which is better among the sentences below?

    1. With the rise of the Internet and smart phones, the generation gap between parents and children is getting worse.
    2. With the popularization of the Internet and smart phones, the generation gap between parents and children is widening.
    3. With the Internet becoming more widespread, the problems of generation gap may can be getting more and more serious.

    Re: gap widening

    Only the first is correct.

In #2, 'the population of the Internet' doesn't make sense.

In #3, 'the problems of generation gap may can be getting ...' is ungrammatical.

    Re: gap widening

Sentence 1 is natural. 2 is grammatically correct but popularization is not the word you're looking for.

Sentence 3 has a couple of errors in its second clause.
