    local distinctions

Does the following sentence make sense? If not, how could I make it sound natural?

Noodle cuisines in different countries, regions, or parts of the world may evolve into a variety of cultural noodle dishes featuring local distinctions.

    Re: local distinctions

'Distinctions' is not the right word there.
"Noodle dishes in different parts of the world vary according to local ingredients and customs of preparation."
"There are local variations in noodle dishes."
