    whatever time is not gobbled up by Brexit negotiations

    Hi There;
    I have a paragraph in The Economist. Here is a paragraph about analyzing Mrs Theresa May's government. Mrs Theresa May is the new prime minister of the UK.

    There is little doubt about which subject will define Theresa May’s government. But the prime minister has made clear that during whatever time is not gobbled up by Brexit negotiations she wants to turn Britain into “a country that works for everyone”
    I can understand the sentence starts with "But the prime minister has made ", however, problem has arisen with the phrase "whatever time is not gobbled up by Brexit negotiations "

    Can you analyze the phrase? Thanks in advance.

    To gobble up means "to consume". Does that help?
