Context: Direct conversation between two friends.

"If you allow me I'd like to do that."

Context: Direct conversation between two friends.

"I'd love to know if she can ride a bicycle"

Are the above sentences incorrect? Is it okay if we don't use past tense for fixed expressions like "I'd like", "I'd love "?

Re: Context: Direct conversation between two friends.

They're OK with the simple present.

The second example sentence needs a period.
There's a stray space before a closing quotation mark. Can you spot it?
A definite article is missing in the last sentence of your post. Can you see where it belongs?
Write Context: direct conversation....

I have changed your thread title. Titles should include some/all of the words/phrases you are querying. The context should be given in the post (as you did) but not in the title.

Re: Context: Direct conversation between two friends.

Thank you.

"A definite article is missing in the last sentence of your post. Can you see where it belongs?"

Is it "the" before "past tense"?

It sounds okay even when it's not used. Doesn't it? Is it must that it be used?

"There's a stray space before a closing quotation mark. Can you spot it?" - yes. I did. I'm not correcting to maintain the coherence between posts. Thank you. Please keep pointing out my errors.
