    down (form) the cliff

    Hi,

I'd like to ask which preposition is OK to use - down/down from/out off. I think it is OK to say, for example, ''She fell off the cliff suddenly and died.'' but still I'd like to ask whether we can use the others.

1- She fell down from the cliff suddenly and died.
2- She fell down the cliff suddenly and died.
3- She fell out of the cliff suddenly and died. (This sounds OK to me)

    Thanks.

I would only use off there.

PS Does suddenly add much? It's hard to fall off a cliff gradually, for instance.
