    Use of "those"

    I am writing a technical paper about turbine.

    Is use of "those" in the following sentences correct grammatically and conceptually? If it is not , kindly suggest ways to make it clearer.

    The main goal of this study is to report differences in aerodynamic losses between Wells turbines with CTBs and those with VTBs. The effect of interaction between tip leakage flow and suction surface of these blades and the loss due to endwall boundary layer flow are highlighted.

    VTB=Variable thickness blade
    CTB=Constant thickness blade

    Re: Use of "those"

    Your use of 'those' is acceptable.

    However, I'm unclear as to which kind of blades 'these' refers - CTB, VTB, or both?

    If both, I'd suggest replacing these with something like 'both blade types' or 'the two blade types'.
