    change the narration

    Hello teachers!

    I've found the following Q&A:

Q:Change the narration of the following sentence:

    1. The teacher said to us, "Stand up when you introduce yourself."

A: The teacher told us to stand up when we introduce ourselves.

According to English grammar, I think the word "introduce" should become "introduced"
because the main verb "told" is written in past tense.

Is this answer correct as it is?

Thanks in advance for your help.

    Re: change the narration

If the teacher was telling you to do this on the one occasion, then 'introduced' is appropriate. If the teacher was giving you a general rule, then you can use either 'introduced' or 'introduce'.

    Re: change the narration

Change the narration is not a standard instruction.

    Re: change the narration

I agree, I have seen it in a number of forums, so I imagine at least some teachers/books must be using it.
