    Ones and people

    Hello.
Can the words in bold be replaced with "one" for No.1 and "ones" for No.2, please?
1- If you're making a cup of coffee, could you make a cup of coffee for me?
2- Many people are happy about the new road being built, but there are some angry people, too.
The key says "No" for both.

I disagree with the key as far as #1 goes. "... could you make one for me?" is absolutely fine in BrE. I wouldn't use "ones" in #2 though.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

1 sounds better without the repetition of cup of coffee.

Ones doesn't work here because it's grammatically ambiguous: it could refer to "many people" or "new roads". It would work in a simpler sentence: Many people are happy, but there are some angry ones, too.

Can we say "some angry roads", GoesStation?

Are the roads really angry? It seems unlikely to me.

I said it would be grammatically ambiguous. Only one understanding is logically possible, but the usage is no less careless for that. The ambiguity will make some readers pause to look back and figure out what the writer meant.
