Tense in a sentence about an action lasting from 2002 to 2004

    Hello,

I am writing about a project on which some people were working from 2002 to 2004.
    Which tense is appropriate?

    a) We have been searching for answers to these questions under the research project "Senior citizens in the society" which had been carried out at the University of Ostrava between 2002 and 2004.

    b) We have been...which has been carried out...

    c) We were...which was carried out...

    d) any other possibility?

    Thank you very much.

    P. S. I'm also not sure about the preposition "under" used with "the project".

We have been/are searching for answers to these questions brought about by the research project which was carried out ....
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
