What does "If you smile on face" mean?

I heard confusing lyrics from a song, and they are "If you always smile on face, you'll make it through the rain."
I have problem understanding the use "smile on face" here, and I think "face" is a countable noun.
Could someone help me with this?
    Thank you.

If you'll post the source or a link, we can check the lyrics. I suspect you've either misheard the words, or are missing a few words.

Re: What does "If you smile on face" mean?

That song has several non-grammatical English sentences. Your original example is one, but at about 2:00 we also have "whenever you feel standalone never shed a tear" as another example of bad English. You can't feel 'standalone', plus it's two words. That's followed another incoherent phrase of "I'll never give in how high the mountains rise".

I suppose they mean something like "If you always have a smile on your face, you'll make it through the rain", and "Whenever you feel lonely, never shed a tear". The third one could be "I'll never give in no matter how high the mountains rise".

However, that's just a guess - the lyricist clearly isn't a fluent English speaker. I suggest you not try to analyze this song for purposes of learning English grammar.

Re: What does "If you smile on face" mean?

It reads like a song written by Google Translate. It's meant to be positive, and that's about all you need to enjoy it. Don't try to prise the meaning out too much, because it isn't there to find.

That's a good idea whenever you're listening to music. Lyrics rarely follow grammatical rules. They're written to fit the rhyme and rhythm of the song.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

I rarely pay much attention to lyrics as most aren't worth it- the gist is enough.
