    seniors

Hello, I came across this sentence in Academy Street, a novel by M. Costello:

"In September she started work at the Presbyterian Medical Hospital on East 68th Street, and in the early weeks walked the long corridors every day shadowing her seniors, pushing medicine carts, taking blood, listening, learning, delivering all that was expected of her as things came at her, and her heart beat hard."

I am not sure the meaning of 'seniors' here:

    1. Old people
    2. Her supervisors
Note that she was 25 years old at that time. Thanks for your time.

    NOT A TEACHER

I most respectfully and humbly suggest that there should be a No. 3: Fellow employees who have been working at that hospital for a longer time than she has.

    Re: seniors

I think they could be people with more experience or in higher positions.
