Much work needs to be done to enhance their governments and bringing their military p

    Hello

Does it sound OK to use the following second sentence instead of the first one?

    - There is much work to be done in terms of improving their governments and bringing their military forces up to NATO standards.

    - Much work needs to be done to enhance their governments and bringing their military power as much as the NATO's one.

    Thank you

No — it doesn't make sense.

Re: Much work needs to be done to enhance their governments and bringing their milita

Once you've used "to enhance", you need to use the same construction for "to bring".
Your "as much as" does not work at all. The original was correct and clear.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.

    How about the following sentence?

Much work needs to be done to improve their governments and increase/beef up their military power as much as the NATO's one.

'...as much as the NATO's one' is unnatural and doesn't mean '...up to NATO standards'.

Why do you need to paraphrase a perfectly good sentence?

This is the practice to improve my writing and learn how to paraphrase sentences.
