    These Women Were Deemed Unusual In Their Societies Now They're Deemed Bad-Ass, Brave Women.

    Is it also right to insert "as" after "deemed" in the above? Thanks.

    They appear to be translations from Chinese and are not colloquial English.

    I can't help that, Matthew. The fact that you can't see them in your country doesn't mean they don't exist. The Googelebooks American English Corpus has 4,126 citations for 'deemed as' in the first decade of the 21st century.
