    A or An phishing email?

I am new to this forum and found some useful discussions about using English. May I ask which one is correct when I write in email:
A phishing email... OR An phishing email...?

Re: A or An phishing email?

    Welcome to the forum.

The word 'phishing' begins with a consonant sound – f – so 'a' precedes it.

Re: A or An phishing email?

It doesn't matter what letter a noun begins with if there is something like an adjective before it. The choice between a/an is dictated by the sound that starts the word that follows it- it does not belong to the noun:

    An orange
    A sweet orange
