In the following sentence, which is the better choice? Thank you.

When difficulty (A. arises B. befalls), it helps.

Befalls is a transitive verb. Evil befalls someone. Therefore arises is the only possible choice. But even then your sentence does not make a lot of sense.

"When difficulty arises it helps." How, who, when or what does it help?

i'm no expert but befalls sounds much cooler :)

i'm actually starting English lessons next week. I'm really excited to find out what's right and what's wrong. From what I've heard, many people in the world speak English very wrong. It's my dream to learn how to speak proper English and master at least one accent.

HYPED :D

Welcome to the forum, ivaylo11. :hi:

I'm not sure what you mean by "cooler". Generally, we don't speak English (here) to sound cool!

Please note my corrections above. It's important to follow these rules of written English at all times:
- Start every sentence with a capital letter.
- End every sentence with one, appropriate punctuation mark.
- Capitalise the word "I" every time you write/type it.

Please don't try to make your own emoticons. If you must use one, click on the :) icon and choose the appropriate one.

"Cool" is an often used as a slang to mean stylish but I thought the comparative form is "more cool", not "cooler".

The usual comparative is cooler.
