Is this sentence correct and does it sound good?

    Hello,

can you please tell me, if the following sentence is correct?

But then the car breaks down and Julia needs to find a way out of the increasingly threatening situation.

    Thank you,

There has to be a good reason for the sentence to begin with 'But'.

    What's the context?

    Here is the context:
Julia and Hannes need to transfer the dog to Annas house. Right from the beginning of their journey a conflict between them occurs. But then the car breaks down and Julia needs to find a way out of the increasingly threatening situation.

(Julia and Hannes have a conflict, but when the car breaks down, Julia has to leave the conflict beside (or she needs to get over it) in order to get them out of the situation).

    Thanks.

    Yes. It's fine as is.
