    prepositions

Recently I came across a question. It was as follows.

Fill in the blanks: The eggs and larvae _____ the colony.

Usually Colony refers to a place. But a colony of a species is a group which lives in the same place.

So should the answer be 'at' or 'of'?

Hello Hisham, and welcome to the forum.
Can you please provide us with the full sentence, and if possible, where you came across it?
