Is "as far as" interchangeable with "as long as"?

    Hello.

We had a text book content that said "It is not an asset as long as it belongs to you"

Then in our school test, the question had us choose between "It is not an asset (as much as / as far as) it belongs to you"

As far as I am concerned, "as far as" and "as long as" has different meanings, so neither of above seemed correct.

In the eye of native speakers, especially teachers, is the question appropriate to evaluate 10th graders' grammar?

Which of the above (as much as vs. as far as) is interchangeable with "as long as"?

    Thank you in advance!

    Welcome to the forum, Juanwan.

Neither is correct. It's a bad question.

thank you sir! Our school teacher appears to have meant "as far as" in the sentence as "to the extent that" as in "it is not an asset as far as (to the extent that) it belongs to you." Would such a use be acceptable?

    No.
Remember - if you don't use correct capitalisation, punctuation and spacing, anything you write will be incorrect.
